A ‘Content Challenge’

It's Time to Practice What I Preach....Let's Commit To A 'Content Challenge'

Content Challenge? What are you talking about?

As a Digital Marketer, I know the importance of blogging, putting out great content and quite frankly, connecting with your audience. But I also know as a busy mum and business owner, finding the time is not easy!

I am going to set myself a challenge, and invite you to also commit to the challenge. Adding content and blogs to your website is the number 1 thing any business can do to improve their SEO.
The challenge will be to simply commit 30 minutes per day to writing something that can be used as content for your audience. I promise that this will not be time wasted and I am going to provide you with templates, tips and best practices to help you get the most momentum and ROI on the time you put into the Content Challenge.

Here is The Number 1 Secret…

I know you are probably thinking… “I don’t know what to write about” or “I’m no good at writing”, “I don’t know where to start”, but truly the only thing you need to know is that you just need to start!

We are advised the quality content needs to be 1000 words plus, but putting 100 words down each day is working towards that goal. By the end of week 1, we are 1/2 way to our first quality piece of content. On the other hand, if you don’t write a thing, by the end of the week you are still stuck in the mindset that you can’t do it and most likely won’t.

It’s All About Taking Action

I attended a workshop with International Speaker, Julie Cross on Sunday. She made us laugh, cry and feel every other emotion in between. She spoke to us about the importance of building our own confidence, that each of us is ‘enough’ and to go forth with the self-belief that “I’ve got this”. And I am repeating those pieces of gold here –

We’ve got this!

We are good enough!

We will handle this!

Let’s Get Started -NOW

But the number 1 thing to take from this message today, is that we need to take action. Take action now. Go on, set a timer for 30 minutes and start writing. And you do know plenty to write about. I am sure that you, like myself, are very passionate about your business. Here are a few ideas that might be good to get you started.

  • Tell a story about how a customer came to your business with a problem and how you solved it.
  • New developments in the industry.
  • How your week is going.
  • Write about something you read or heard recently that was interesting.
  • Some goals you have for the next 6 months.
  • I’ll keep adding to this list so check back for more ideas again soon.

Ok, so my 30 minutes are up. I’ll be back tomorrow to add to this post and before we know it, I’ll have it over that magical 1000 word target. Seriously I am already 1/2 way there! As I sign off from the first day of the Content Challenge, I have surpassed 500 words.

……And to be honest, it was actually fun!

See you back here tomorrow for Day 2!
